Technical Questions
Global Servers uses some of the most powerful
server hardware available today. Click
here for hardware specs. Our web hosting technology
is based on the virtual private server concept
using SWsoft's Virtuozzo and HSP Complete virtualization
software. Click here
for software details.
We have a world-class
hosting facility set up in San Jose, California.
All of our VPS packages support the full use of
PHP and MySQL.
Yes, we allow all legal MP3 sites. See our User
Agreement for details.
All GlobalServers packages support FrontPage extensions,
which can be enabled in your control panel. To
login to your control panel, click
here.
When you login, you will be placed in your home
directory.
Click on the account login link from the GS home
page, then enter your user name and password.
Simply follow the steps outlined in your control
panel
In order to SSH/Telnet to your account, you will
need terminal software that supports SSH. Good
options include, TeraTerm , Secure Shell, PuTTY
and SecureCRT. We don’t recommend that you
Telnet to your site, as Telnet is insecure and
your password may be compromised.
You’ll then connect to the IP address or
host name of the domain that was provided to you
when you signed up for your VPS package.
If your DNS is not set up yet, then use the IP
address that was provided when you signed up.
Once your DNS is working, you can connect to any
host name that is served by your VPS. (ex: yoursite.com).
Unless you registered your domain name with us,
you need to contact the registrar your originally
registered your domain name with. Just contact
GlobalServers technical support, and we’ll
walk you through the process
NS1.globalservers.com and NS2.globalserver.com.
First, you need to have an FTP client. You’ll
then need to connect to the IP address or host
name of the domain that was provided to you when
you signed up for your VPS package.
If your DNS is not set up yet, then use the IP
address that was provided when you signed up.
Once your DNS is working, you can connect to any
host name that is served by your VPS. (ex: yoursite.com).
